There is a black female rock star. The Queen of Rock&Roll Tina Turner. She has and album coming out in 2008. It is a comeback album. Yes I would support another Black Female Rock Star.

If they made good music then certainly yes.

If they were a puppet for a studio then less likely

If they were a talentless fool who used nothing but their race to become famous then absolutely not.

Race does not come into my decision as far as music is concerned. But anyone who uses race to become famous and just happens to sing is a fool.

But if you want to become famous then I'd stay clear of American idol. That just produces puppets. Make your own music, go your own way. It's harder, but at least you'll be genuine - not like the inflatable pop nothings with a shelf life of 6 months that the idol programs churn out.

I support anyone who's talented, but I don't think anything authentically "rock" could come out of American Idol.

Whatever the motivation is to vote for him, I’m afraid too many voters vote for silly reasons. That applies not only to Obama, by the way. I think it is a civic duty to vote for a president whose positions on issues reflect what is best for the country as a whole. I can’t believe some of the very shallow reasons many Obama supporters give to support his candidacy. I cringe whenever I hear that “Obama girl” song. I think it is mostly a “cult of personality” at work here. To me, the man’s rhetoric sounds empty and many of his positions on serious issues are, to put it mildly, naïve.

I don't support based on race. I listen to and support artists based on how much talent they have. =]]

And good luck with your auditions... I don't watch American Idol, because I think they discourage you if you don't fit in with the perfect pop culture image.

Yeah it doesn't matter who they are as long as they make good music. There are actually quite a few British bands with Black Female vocalists. The Noisettes is the only one I can think of right now.

Oh yes. Talent is talent. Skin color and genre of music would not matter in the least. Talent wins it every time for me. Best of luck on your auditions. Break a leg!

Not because of being black. Not because of being female. Write and perform good music (music I like) and I will support. I mean, if the music sucks, I don't care what race or gender you are - I won't support you.
