I like Obama too. I think he's the only democratic candidate that can unify our country and stop the partisan stupidity that plagues the current administration.
I like Fred Thompson on the Republican side for exactly the same reason - he seems like he's less interested in playing party politics and more interested in returning America's integrity.
But to answer your question:
My guess is that people don't like Obama because he's smart, charismatic, intelligent and honest. Those are qualities that spook most people - ESPECIALLY the PACs, special interest groups, NRA, Petroleum lobby, etc. These are the people who fund presidential campaigns and thus, buy presidential favor. And their marketing machine influences public opinion. Look at the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" - They took a guy who served in Viet Nam and made him look like a pansy compared to a guy who couldn't cut it in the Indiana National Guard.
I think people like Obama - but I think Washington's marketing machine is trying to ruin his credibility.

I heard Obama saying that the highest law of all for him was the law of god.
I wouldn't support a president with such disregard for the Constitution. Plus, moving the invasion from Iraq to Pakistan doesn't make much difference. How about no invasion at all?
Less taxpayer money wasted, less conflict, more work into the real problems.

You're a gullable liberal.
First, stop playing the race card! It's not working.
Second, Barack Hussein Obama is an invention by the liberal media with no real experience with politics whatsoever.
Thirdly, he hasn't offered any good solutions to America's problems. He's the same old liberal nonsense.

You would think the democrats would grasp this opportunity to have a black man in the White House. They proclaim them self to be the party of the downtrodden and support all kinds of social programs designed primarily for blacks. Yet, they will not allow a black man such power as they enjoy. The democrat party is racist! Having said that, I will add that I personally will never vote for a liberal of any color, age, or experience.

Because he really is too inexperienced. His being black really has nothing to do with it (at least not in the minds of sane people). Also, he pushes for Universal Health Care, something I completely disagree with. His stance on terror is also somewhat contradictory at times.

what makes you think some fresh faced upstart is fit to lead this country and all its complexities? You're very naive about what this nation needs, but we have an idiot running it now so maybe you have a point

Obama is nothing but Jimmy Carter redone (but without the experience Carter brought to office).
And his comments on foreign policy are just plain naive.

Just yesterday he said he wants to attack our ally in response to his remarks last week where he said he wants to talk to our enemies.
He is a political neophyte who knows his voter base listens to sound bites but doesn't follow the real issues.

I don't dislike Obama, but I also don't think he is that much different then other similar candidates... not one candidate really stands out for me, except Kucinich and we know he will never get even NEAR the nomination...
PS: I am ALL FOR Universal Health Care... it works...
