I personally really like Obama and hope he wins the election, but ofcourse because hes "black" and "too young", he wont win.

Its a big shame how some people automatically decide to go against someone because hes too young and not "experienced enough"

You have to remember Obama is against the War in Iraq (500$ bil that could've been used elsewhere) to start with and now just said if elected he'll take the fight into pakistan (bin laden & co will never get caught/killed until we do so)

I personally think hes the best fit for our next president. But i've gotten alot of negativity from other users on here. I would like to know why?

thanks all

I don't hate the guy. I don't like his politics. Has nothing to do with his color. If a conservative black person ran and I agreed with his or her politics,I'd vote for them.

Well, what you call a big shame I call rational thinking. Lack of experience is a good reason to not vote for a candidate. We don't know what to expect from him, and any mistakes he might make could be costly for the US. Generally speaking, less experience = more mistakes.

"You have to remember Obama is against the War in Iraq"

Who isn't? Everyone dislikes the war, some people want to leave now and others want to see it finished, but make no mistake: nobody likes the war.

"if elected he'll take the fight into pakistan (bin laden & co will never get caught/killed until we do so)"

They don't know Bin Laden was there, and if Iraq is any indication another war is not what this country needs. A war with Pakistan may cost American soldiers more than war in Iraq.

Two reasons: He is a Democrat and He is Black!

Inexperience is no excuse to be against him. How much experience running a country can anyone have? I don't see us nominating the former leaders of small third-world countries, and where else would you find a leader who would give up his/her job to run for Pres. of the US? And how much "experience" do all these actor/politicians have? (Putting on a false face and acting as if you believed in the Constitution or the rights of the American peope MIGHT be an asset, but it's not exactly "experience".) To say that being a senator is not a qualifying position, is essentially eliminating some of the BEST possibilities for procuring nominees----at least they understand how the government works. Someone just said "they are only one of one hundred". In a country of over two hundred million people, I would think that put him in a pretty rare and elite group!!!

And, let's discuss his being Black. This country is full of rabid racists! Even those who constantly SAY they don't mind what a person's color is, DO CARE!

I disagree with him on some issues. He voted to give illegals SS benefits even tho they had never paid into the system. He co-sponsored an amendment to the immigration bill that would not have required employers to check the legal status of their present employees only new ones. This is only one example of the reasons I dont support him.

because he's a liberal, his ideas don't jive with mine,he opposes the war in Iraq, the list goes on.
the fact that he is black doesn't matter to me, but you are right that will be the biggest factor in his not being elected to the president.

I disagree with the man's policies.
He is pro choice and I am pro life.
I believe he would raise taxes.
He would nominate people to the Supreme Court that have philosophies different than my own.
It has nothing to do with his age, color, name, or experience, but rather his POLICIES!!!
Personally, he seems the most "likable" out of the dems. I do not know the man enough to like or dislike him, but I disagree with his politics.

How many years of public service has he done and how many years of foreign relations has he had? How many executive decisions has he made to protect our country so far other than....."let's bring our troops home"?

On a side note, from what I have seen of him I feel he is a likeable guy.

I think he and Hillary should run on the same ticket, with Obama as Vice President and Hillary as President. Right now any change in the White House is a change for the better, I would vote for you before I would another Republican.

I like Obama too, I think he will be President someday, but his inexperience will hurt him this time around. this is probably not the best place to get unbaised opinions from people.

I DON'T LIKE MANY OF HIS IDEAS. HE SEEMS LIKE A TYPICAL SOCIALIST DEMOCRAT. HE WANTS TO RAISE TAXES. HE SAYS ON THE WEALTHY BUT EVERY BODY KNOWS TO A DEMOCRAT THAT'S ANY ONE WITH A PAY CHECK. HE IS TOO INEXPERIENCED SINCE HE IS ONLY IN HIS FIRST TERM IN THE SENATE.
