Trade deadline passed and he was not traded. The White Sox are not going to send him through waivers so he will be with the team the rest of the year.

Well, he can still be traded if he clears waivers. Since Boston has the best record they are at the end of the pecking order so I doubt he will end up in Boston.
Since the Yankees know the Sox are interested in him I can promise you that they will put a claim on him simply to block Boston from having a shot at getting him.

I don't think they will, the Red Sox don't really have much of a place for Dye, and he'll be a free agent in the winter anyway. The Red Sox were only expressing interest to keep up with their American League competitors. The whole trade rumor is just going through the motions for a GM doing his job and doing it well.

I don't think so. He is having somewhat of a down year and his market value has gone down. I don't believe the White Sox would be able to pick up a better player than what they would be giving up. By the way, any team can trade after the trading deadline but the player has to clear waivers first.

The trade deadline has passed but a player can still be traded if he clears waivers. But other teams can block the trade by claiming the player off waivers, if that happens the team that put the player on waivers can the pull him off waivers and he will remain with that team... so the Yankees would probably claim him so the Redsox cant get him since they would have first crack at him since their winning percentage is worse than Boston's.

From what the Red Sox GM was saying they wanted Dye but the White Sox wanted too much from them. I don't see it happening.

IT WON'T HAPPEN NOW THAT THE TRADING DEADLINE HAS PASSED. HE WOULD HAVE TO PASS THROUGH WAIVERS IN REVERSE ORDER OF THE STANDINGS.
WITH THE RED SOX IN FIRST & THE YANKEES IN SECOND THE CHANCES ARE SLIM & NONE & SLIM JUST DIED.

now probably not cuz he needs to clear waivers and i dont think he will do that. Many teams will probably put in claims for him, making it impossible to trade him.

no, because the yanks will block anything that looks like it's going to Boston through waivers.
