I bought a Seagate 320 Gig free agent desktop external HD. It works great but as soon as I hook up my 80 GIG IPOD video the seagate stops responding. I've updated all USB drivers and chipset driver. Also changed drive letter to "Q", out of range of my ipod's "H". They both work fine appart, but as soon as I hook them up toghetter the seagate gives up. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks Stu! I've moved both Seagate and IPOD to the back USB's and now both are working. Must have been the hub causing the problem. Good stuff, thanks again.

It's an issue with Winblows not liking having 2 USB HDDs connected at the same time. I'd say if you have a USB hub, plug the Ext drive to the motherboard direct and the Ipod via tha Hub, this way they are on different USB chains and "may work"
I know I can use my USB drive and my Firewire drive together no ptroblem, and sometimes add in a 2nd USB HDD without problems, but 1 of the USB drivers goes through the HUB.

Also if they both use the Generic "USB Mass storage device" driver it can have problems, see if there is a "specific" driver set available for 1 of the devices might also help as it can stop them appearing "same" to Windows
