Mono laser, BLACK toner only, can print black and shades of grey (Actually only prints black full stop, but spaces dots a little so they SEEM grey)
Other types : Erm COLOUR . . .
Uses 4 colours, Cyan (light Blue), Magenta (pink), Yellow and Black (referred to as K in technical terms)
Uses the mix of the CMYK toners to produce "apparent" full colour images, althougn it really only can print the 4 colours, but makes them seem like more by clever dot spacings.

if you know about levels of the GRAY scale in the loop of the colors you can understand more abut mono & monocomponent you just ues of the gray scale from 0 till 100
