I had the same problem when I installed my wireless mouse and keyboard, when I looked further into it I discovered that the software was not the latest. They commonly give you the software that it was manufactured for and if it has been on the market for more then 3 months it's outdated.

What I did was go to the manufacturer's site and downloaded the new drivers and it loaded just fine.

Go to your control panel, add/remove programs, delete the mouse program you just loaded and then reload it with the new drivers from the website.

Because you have not stated which manufacturer it is made by, I can't look the site up for you, but you can probably find it through goggle, just make sure you go to the manufacturer's official site, not someone else's so you can be sure of a clean download.

Ahh you just updated your question, it's a vista issue, there are a lot of programs that don't run with vista, hopefully the manufacturer has the vista upgrade on their site, you need to find out, vista does not play well with other hardware and software.

Good Luck!

I just looked for you, Sony doesn't have a very user friendly site at all, I'm glad I have a Dell.

Anyway what I did find out is your pc is a new model with duel core and has vista on it. So if the mouse came with it, the software you have should work, just uninstal it and then re-install it again sometimes during installation files don't copy over properly and this will fix it. If it doesn't contact sony your computer is still new enough that they will fix it for you.

Here is their info.

If it's a mouse with "extra features" you will need the correct drivers to use it, if it came withthe machine, should have drivers with it. Contact Sony support service for help locating said device driver.

YOU DID NOT WRITE ABOUT THE OS YOU USING. I SUPPOSE IT IS WIN XP. YOUR MOUSE HAVE A HARDWARE PROBLEM. SO WIDNDOWS DID NOT ALLOW TO INSTALL. GET A NEW USB MOUSE AND TRY IT.
