It may be a little too advanced for you but since you love to read I'm sure you'll be okay. It's by Stephen King an older book but sooooooo good. Called bag of bone. No vampires but it deff. has that weird factor.

Stardust by Neil Gaiman (soon to be a movie)
any of Neil Gaiman's books Rock though. Some other titles are: American Gods, Neverwhere,Good Omens(funny as all hell), Anansi Boys (follow up to American Gods), Coraline, short stories books are Smoke and Mirrors or Fragile Things.

Dirty Job by Christopher Moore was a good funny book, too.

btw these are all fiction books since it seems you that like that style. ; )

Virgin Suicides (also a movie)
A Tree Grows In Brooklyn
Valley of the Dolls if you like vampire books I recommend Poppy Z Bright over Anne Rice! I 'm not sure if the spelling of Poppy's name is correct...very popular though

"Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging" is the first in a series of several books written by Louise Rennison. The main character is 13-year-old (?) girl named Georgia Nicholson. Georgia is a lot like a teenaged Bridget Jones. I'm in my twenties and those books make me laugh out loud!
