Congratulations! You are going to love high school. Naturally, there will be lots of challenges, new people to meet, teachers to get to know, a new building to learn, locker combination to memorize.....The idea of wanting to have a nice wardrobe is good- it helps to promote self-confidence and self-esteem. However, don't go overboard. (Create a savings account and make sure you save money as well) When you shop, make sure you have the ability to coordinate outfits. You will appear to have more clothing than you actually have. Think of colors that favor your skin tone and coordinate from those colors. Think also of the seasonal changes. And shoes. As far the makeup goes - a word of caution - you don't want to put too much makeup on your face. You want to look like a teen - lip gloss seems to be very popular with teenagers. But if I were you - I would go to the local department store make up counter. Talk with a consultant first - let her help you determine what kind of skin you have (oily, dry, etc.) and then she can help you pick some favorites that will totally be YOU. Then you can buy a kit - she can show you how to apply the makeup so it will look natural and also, more importantly, she can show you how to maintain good skin care. (don't wear makeup to bed). Look around in the department stores in the teen sections and also talk with consultants there. They can help you coordinate your outfits. Get a variety of skirts, shirts, sweaters, blouses, pants with jackets, etc. (a super nice pant suit in black is a must!) Also consider socks - The knee high look will never go away - loafers and boots are also a must! Don't forget jewelry - nice earrings, one or two nice rings for your finger (your birthstone is a good idea), polish those nails (nothing heavy and dark). If you have long hair, get a variety of hair ribbons, bows, ties that match. Always have clean hair that smells good. And - don't forget - find a nice smelling cologne and lotion set that you like. Keep a smaller version in your purse to keep smelling fresh all day. Finally, I know that teens are into jeans - so you 'll need to make sure you have several nice pair. Personally, I don't like jeans that are cut up and raggedy at the ends - but you might. I would also recommend that you Google teen clothing and see what's hip for the fall. Personally, window shopping at the mall is better. Have fun this year!

Just wear things that you like and that look good on you. Try playing around with accessories to make your look unique. Don't try to be someone your not b/c you will stress yourself out even more. You can buy make-up pretty much anywhere. Don't buy the cheapest brand like Wet 'N Wild because they tend to not last the whole day and the lip gloss will dry out your lips. You don't need to buy the most expensive either, see what you can afford. Make-up is only bad if you do not wash it off at night. Make sure you wash your face before you go to bed so your skin has a chance to breathe.

Just go to a discount store or even Salvation army and find the clothes that you like...Try picking out things that are bold or that you don't think anyone else would pick out. That would make a statement and it would boost ur self confidence to look cute and different at the same time.
Always remove Ur eye makeup at night! A smoked eye is very popular now-a-days so if you could pull it off that would be good. A colorless lip gloss is allways good and a very faint bronzer just under the cheek bone. As long as you wash ur face at night, makeup wont hurt you.
Oh...and always use noncomodegenic makeup so you don't break out

If you want to have a unique sense of style, just go the the mall and buy anything you LIKE. You can also try like vintage stores or websites. If you're 14, too much make up can look odd. Make up is bad for you skin (obviously), but you can prevent from break outs from giving your face daily scrbs, cleanser, and moisturizer.
Scrub- St.Ives apricot scrub
Cleanser- Neutrogena face wash (they have make up remover ones too)
Moisturizer- Neutrogena lotions are good.
For make up- you can buy the pricy ones at the department store or Sephora or you can actually get pretty nice ones at the drug store too. Revlon, covergirl, maybelline has good make ups.

1: I say go crazy with animal print tops and dresses, black lace leggings, cropped cardigans or blazers in bright pastels, patent yellow flats, chuncky necklaces, etc. But just remember that you need all the craziness to mellow each other out so make sure you have outfits, not just buying one crazy print after another
2: You can find these at forever 21, wetseal, anyplace that's not abercrombie, hollister, american eagle does have some nice prints but they're not animal prints. My suggestion just look everywhere and everywhere you never know what you may find
3: For cheap, but good quality cosmetics go to target and try Rimmel, boots, and physcicans formula, and NYC (they're brands) if you want to splurge go to MAC or sephora.
4: its not bad for your skin if its non comedogenic (won't clog your pores), is oil and fragrance free etc, but remeber sanitation, don't let others use your stuff and use others stuff, but otherwise its fine
hope if helps

I know the mall seems kind of scary. . .lol. . .but just map out the stores with the clothes you envision yourself in. Unique stores like forever 21, wetseal, H&M, etc. may be able to help you. but you don't have to avoid AE, Hollister, etc. And as for makeup all department stores ive ever been to have a makeup counter for just about whatever you're looking for. If you have one try Sephora-its like a one stop shop for makeup

Hey. definitely try all kinds of styles even ones youre not sure that youd normally wear. go wild! like theyve said below definitely try stores like forever 21 and such. as for makeup go to a place like dillards or macy's and ask them to give you a makeover at one of the makeup departments. they will usually do it for free. once you've found a type of makeup you like they will probly have it. department stores like that have everything!! and the makeover is just fun anyways! trust me ive done it myself! lol HAVE FUN WITH YOURSELF!!
