no, because they will do more harm then good, and usually don't work anyway
I'ts healthier for your tank just to do regular waterchanges of 25% weekly with a gravel siphon

hope that helps
Good luck

I have 3 tanks one 20 gal. and two 40 gals
I don't use ammonia in any of my tanks even brand new start ups,
I use this stuff that's called " Start Right with Allantoin" , it totally conditions the water and removes chlorine and chloramine and reduces the stress on the fish,
I make sure the water is room temperature and all the filter systems are running good and the air stones are working,
I put a couple of capfuls in when I fill a tank and a couple anytime I need to add water to the tank.
I have had these tanks full of fish for over 5 years and I've never used ammonia.

Not really. These types of products will interfere with the bacteria development if you are cycling the tank, and a healthy aquarium that has developed this bacteria certainly has no need for them. It also neutralizes and doesn't eliminate ammonia, which will lead to false readings.

I personally hate those tablets. They made my tank very cloudy. I think you may want to try to siphon it out first. regular cleanings seem to do much better than medicating the water if there is an ammonia problem.
