The short answer is NO.
Now for the long answer: I think we can trust them the least right now. The current administration is way too "business-friendly" and they will not support anything that may potentially interfere with the profit margin or "bottom line" of a corporation. Also, due to globalization, more and more raw materials are coming from other countries: Asia and Latin America and others. The FDA only has the budget to check only about 1 percent of it, I understand. Its not only the tainted toothpaste and pet food raw materials from China that "slipped through" the safety net. If you read the ingredients on just about any processed food right now, very few of the say "Made in U.S.A." but they say "Distrubited by.....some U.S. distributor". Many bread products are made with raw materials from many different sources, international and domestic. You really don't know where all the stuff comes from. Much of the oversight falls on the U.S. company which does the distributing of the product. Some companies are better than others. Personally, I'm no longer purchasing food products or supplements which aren't Made in U.S.A. That cuts out about 99 percent of everything! I'm shopping more and more at the health food store, buying locally grown and locally make fruits, veggies and breads, meats and eggs - and I always look at the ingredients. I refuse to buy anything with "high fructose corn syrup" or "cultured corn syrup products" or just "corn syrup". The FDA allows that in just about everything. Not only does it contribute to diabetes and obesity in this country, but I discovered that it triggers my asthma. Try finding a processed food without corn syrup - good luck! With health insurance premiums becoming too high for the average American, we must become much more aggressive about insisting on healthful choices and adhering to a healthy lifestyle and realize that food is manufactured the way it is no.1 to profit the company, and our welfare is a secondary consideration.

I think it has just become a money hungry government group. Can you explain how all the Pharmaceutical Co's get their drugs on the market & then 6 months later find out 1000's of people are dying from side effects. I know as far as our food goes, they say they don't have enough agents to oversee all the food coming into our country.....but whatever happened to the dog food contamination scare from China. I have never heard that they really did anything directly to solve that mess. Again, I am sure if they pay enough it will all go away. It is terrible but, I think this group has become pretty useless & definitely not trust worthy.

No! It is all about the money. Ask the families who have lost a loved one over drugs prescribed by a Dr. that the FDA approved. Look at how many people died who was on Vioxx. All direct complications of Vioxx. Just one of many drugs approved by them knowing those complications could arise before placing it on the market. After 500 deaths then the drug was pulled.

After what just went down in China I don't trust anyone! Money will always talk and big corporations have the money, Just like what is going on in NW Indiana BP the big oil refinery wants the EPA to let them dump more toxins into lake MIch. If they are not allowed they threatened to shut down some refineries in IN. So you know what that means Our government will let them dump toxins into our drinking water or gas prices will soar to bigger bucks.

i found some herbal products work better for me which cost about 10 a month than medicines that barely worked which cost 150 a month. and to answer your question NO WAY. No money is curing us, they love to find ways to control the problem so you spend more on drugs.
In the 1920 Doctors used to use H202 therapy to cure certain things, even today it can be a possible cure for cancer and alot of other diseases. but because they cant patent something that is found in air, water, food, they could not make money on it, so swept it under the rug.

Not now, in earlier years before the cost of living got outrageous. Big Company's down sizing to compete plus it's about the almighty dollar which is slipping also. We are shipping all of our productivity overseas. some say it's good business. Yeah right! with out proper jobs people get on welfare who's gonna take care of that. Oh yea the government. Yeah Right. This is the world system people better get saved and learn more about the Kingdom of God.

Hard to answer ... I wouldn't trust any organization, institution, or government 100%. Let me put it that way. It's useful to know what the FDA recamends but I wouldn't treat it like a bible of all bibles, they do tend to run on greed.

We absolutely cannot trust the FDA.
If the FDA told me my hair was on fire and offered to throw water on it, I'd take a look in the mirror first to see if it was true, and if it was, I'd then find my own water.
They're crooks and liars.
