In the interests of democracy, isn't it time the conservative party was disbanded for good and replaced by a party that actually believed in more than making Rupert Murdoch happy?

Absolutely correct. There has not been a decent Tory leader since Margaret Thatcher. Their continual push for the centre ground has made the Conservative Party a pathetic self interest group prepared to sell their countrymen down the river for the chance of a term in government. UKIP and the BNP are the only parties with a thought for the hard working people of this country that are crippled by excessive tax to fund wasteful eaters and inefficient government.

Ask George Soros, maybe he can answer that for you. But anyway, why in the world would the conservative worry about making a liberal happy? Yes Murdoch own Fox news but if you notice he supports Clinton and most liberal candidates. Owning Fox is a business move on his part.

Some of our American friends should realise there are older democracies in the world, and "conservative" and "liberal" have different meanings in England, the home of the English language.

No, a healthy democracy needs a party to represent the interests of the self serving and greedy.

What country are you talking about? When the last party was in power we got a taxpayer paid Drug Plan, spending out of control, a federal law restricting speech in McCain-Feingold, out of control spending in "No child left behind", and the list goes on.

I think you have to learn the meaning of "conservative" thought.

All parties change. The party of JFK is now the party of Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore.

I wasn't aware that there was a party called "the conservative party". If there was, it shouldn't be disbanded. It should be supported. Unfortunately, the Republicans don't fit the bill as do not the Democrats.
