I keep seeing questions addressed to the democrats, and I was wondering why the GOP doesn't ask their OWN leadership about their liberal policies? They have been in power for years...

The conservatives don't have a party anymore. We choose the lesser of two evils.

My choices in politics seem to be "bad," "worse," and "not available, or has no chance of winning."

I have said many times that Bush is ROTTEN on immigration and spending, and that the Republicans did not deserve to win the House and Senate again.

It is now a cliche, but a true one, that the Republicans "lost their brand" when Bush and the Congress raided the Treasury for many goodies, like prescription drugs and assorted pork projects.

Bush has alienated much of his base. He's vetoing bills now - but it's very late in the game.

Enough Republicans WERE alienated to stay home in 2006. Believe me, I have my finger on that patient's pulse! I saw it. And enough people "in the middle" wanted to change.

I don't know when - or if - the Republicans can get back their "mojo." Things can change quickly, though. After 2004, people were asking if the Democratic Party would survuve. Obviously the situation has changed. I've seen it many times. (Reagan brought the Republican Party back after Watergate was supposed to bury them, Clinton won in 1996 after being counted out after the 1994 elections, etc.)

As far as questions here, and this board in general, I seem to get more disgusted by the day. Yet I still come. How pathetic I am for doing so! But the good folks make it worthwhile.

Wait a minute. There is nothing "liberal" about Bush. When conservatives call him a liberal just because his spending and deficit are huge, that's a specious charge, because liberalism has NOTHING TO DO WITH SPENDING AND DEFICITS.

Liberals don't make money an ideology. Only conservatives do that. Pretty shallow perspective on the part of conservatives, dontcha think?

Budgets were far closer to balanced and deficits turned into surpluses during the "liberal" Clinton presidency.

I don't know what you're talking about. The GOP has been spending cash like it's going out of style for the last 30 years. What do you think the budget deficit is all about? They cut taxes to give the illusion that they're shrinking the government, but at the same time they're borrowing money to make up the difference and then some.

Or do you think this war in Iraq is funded by oil profits? lol.

You Cons really need to educate yourselves. Your lack of knowledge about how the system works is allowing the GOP to consistently take advantage of you

Considering that America is about 51% Conservative, and President Bush's approval rating is below 30%, I would say that quite a few Conservatives are questioning his policies.

Edit: I second John Gault's answer, 100%

Bush fooled the lot of them. Compassionate Conservative, Neo Conservative, what a crock. He's letting the riches of our country go to waste.

Its only liberalism when a democrat does it. When a republican does it its called "the president's approach".

It's not they hate liberalism. It's that they hate freedom and America in general. Anyone who thinks for themselves makes them quiver with fear.
