These pursuits have been going on for years without anyone even thinking about them being dangerous. Now bemused parents have to sign forms acknowleging that donkey rides are dangerous before the kids can take part.Who first came up with this PC ,health and safety claptrap? He should have been strung up.Why can't we just say..No, we won't accept this stupidity any longer and go back to the good old days when boys climbed trees, grazed their knees and still got on with life.

Children used to brought up tough. OK, so we lost a few along the way, but a broken neck is character building.

Now children are kept in cotton wool. They can only get from place to place in Mummy's 4 wheel drive padded cell, and they certainly mustn't be allowed to hurt themselves.

No wonder we've got an obesity time-bomb. Eating is the most fun kids are allowed to have.

I think it is because this government and the PC brigade want to breed a nation of mamby pambies that have no imagination or experience of danger.

This in it's self is dangerous when someone is so happy with their own insular world that if they every face danger they will not be able to cope.

Dead right bring back the good old days when we went home with the **** hanging out of our clothes.

Because people will sue for any dumb thing and the jury will award them settlements way out of proportion. When I was young, we played inside houses being built in our development. Nowadays, they have fences, dogs, guards, motion detecting lights, alarms and regular patrols because if little Jonny would happen to scrape himself on a nail playing with a board, his family would sue seven different agencies (the carpenter, the developer, the architect, the nail company, the lumber manufacturer, the insurance company of each, and the original owner of the land) and probably win millions of dollars. Sad, isn't it?

The same reason Recess in Elementary school is too dangerous. I can't believe it either. Kids are going to get bruises and scrapes. That's a part of childhood. You're not really considered a part of my family if you don't break a couple bones in your childhood. That's how accident prone we are. People just need to get over it.

Yep. All in the name of health and safety. In my opinion its gone too far. The rules and regulations now are beyond a joke. Everywhere you go, can't do this, must do that. We've spotted lots of silly things over the past year or so that i just can't believe. Its all out of hand, like we can't think for and look out for ourselves. We always managed before quite well.
