I replaced a broken towel rack and now that its shorter I have two little holes in my wall how do i fill them up and smooth them over

Spackle or joint compound. Spread it on, let it dry, sand it off, and repaint.

Or, if they are less than 1/4", use white toothpaste.

Credit cards make excellent spackle tools, too, by the way.

youcan buy a little tube of a compound just for that. Just go to the paint section i the hardware store and tell them you have 2 little holes to fill.

Baking soda made into a paste with water will dry hard and is sandable.
