Ok...... I feel your pain. Soooooooo I looked up "Lake Beaches" in your area. Surely one of them would be fun, easy to get to and perfect to sustain you until you can get there. Though I'm sure you are familiar with all of them..... here you go:

I've heard of Lake Lanier before. I may have been there even. I have "extended family" in Marietta and they took us to some lake, though I'm not sure which one. lol
I hope you make it there soon!

You could go into your back yard, dig a small hole to get to the sand (Just big enough for your toes!). Put your beach chair there, make a nice tall drink (something Fruity with an umbrella in it), grab your sunglasses, sunscreen, a good book, and a small radio with sounds of the waves rolling in...(some island music maybe)
Hopefully this helps!

I know exactly how you feel! I love going to the beach so-o much but I can't go right now either! You can just go to the pool or if you really need to feel the sand then go to someone's house that has a sandbox AND a pool.

Some rivers have sand along them if you really want to FEEL the sand. Or go to a spa and get a massage and all the pampering that goes with it.

I saw a commercial and this lady had sand, sand dollars, and beach things in the bottom drawer of her desk. She opened it, kicked off her shoe and put her foot in it. Kinda neat...

a building site or a childs sand pit
or even stand in a tray of fresh cat-litter and imagine
its shinglle or pebbles on the beach
or put your feet in a
bowl of cold water and try to think of the sea

Go for a swing in the park, take your shoes off, and imagine the sand is on the beach, not in a playground.

The nearest sandbox is good. Watch out for the kitty presents though. Make sure you take a nice cocktail, and a good sunscreen. Maybe the ipod with ocean sounds for the ears.

The beach setup.....Get a shovel, take about 10 shovels of sand and throw it in your bathtub, then fill it halfway with water, add some salt, oh, before you dive in, you don't wanna forget your snorkel and flippers....
