Last season: Lola, by the Kinks. The Sabres were contenders, along the lines of the woman described in the song. Then, they were discovered to be pretenders, along the lines of the woman being found out to be a man.
This season: Critic's Choice, by Chicago. The Sabres will spend this season trying to fight the critics who thought that last year was the team's year to shine.
