My phone is down and I don't have any money to use a pay phone (another story in itself) I need to make an urgent phone call. I'm very computer literate, so if someone could give me a name of a program or atleast point me in the right direction, or even if this is possible, I should be able to figure the rest out. Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys but Skype is not free, not to make a call to another persons home phone. It is free if the person has Skype though. Signing up would take too long, and I as I said before I don't have the money.

You can use either Skype or Yahoo Messenger with voice but calls to phones are not free. You can call free only another computer with the same program installed and running. Or you make a deposit with Skype and call at pretty low rates. I do not know about a program that would allow you to call phones for free. Sorry, tough titty this time.
