Well that is a good question.
The German word for universe is Weltall or ALL for short.
It is everything that exist in reality.
Many leading cosmologists now believe the Big Bang did not happen, and the universe has no beginning, or boundary.
I have imagined the earth is an electron revolving around a nucleus (our sun), and making up a molecule of oxygen in a vast atmosphere of a planet trillions and trillions and trillions of times bigger than our planet.
To know the answer of this question is to know the mind of God. I can see how he would duplicate his creation on multiple levels and sizes.
Or if there was no creation, the universe just is-infinite, vast beyond comprehension, and total.
I hope this helps.

Our minds have a hard time grasping the notion of infinity. Not the word but the reality of it. Everything within our lives, even our mortality itself, have a beginning and an end. Just as our life outside mortality is immortal or without end or infinit ie. eternal, so is the universe and we will comprehend it when we leave mortality into immortality. If each solar system has only one habitable planet and there are as many earths as there are sands on the sea shore, which is what Father tells us, imagine the expanse of universe it would take to make room for them. Space is eternal just as our lives are eternal, or will be.

If there was a universe that was significantly smaller, it might not have enough variety for life to form. I'd be more curious to see what happens if the universe were a lot bigger.

Maybe it only seems huge to US. Reality is not constructed on a scale that is familiar to human perceptions.
It's fine, though. Don't worry about it.
