I never gave my son room temp formula when he was young. But now that he is older he doesn't like it warm plus I live in AZ so room temp is what he likes. I haven't been warming it since he was 8mo old he's 10.5mo now. I don't see how not warming up a bottle would make things easier. One thing that I did learn is I will never boil water and set the bottle in it to get it warm because it takes too long when you have a newborn. So next baby if he/she is formula fed it's going in the micro. I know they say not to but if you have common sense there's no harm. Good luck!

I never warmed my daughters....I just used room temperature water (either from tap or bottle) She is now 6 months old and will drink formula room temp or cold from the fridge. Don't warm it if you don't have to.....It will make late night feedings much easier!
Great tip for night feedings:
Keep a jug of Nursery water in the room where you are going to feed baby. Have powder already in bottle. When baby gets up, just pour the right amount of water in and you just shaved 5 minutes off your nighttime bottle routine!
Good luck to you@

my son actually hates warm bottles...always has. I tried a few things when he first came home from the hospital. For awhile I would make a bunch of bottles before bed and put them in the fridge, but would have to warm them as he was screaming. I found the easiest thing is to just make them with room temp tap water. It takes 2 seconds! I also have wondered if you can just fill the bottles with water, keep them on your nightstand and have a can of formula in there to and just make them without ever leaving your room. I jsut don't know if its ok for water too sit for long.

I bought into the whole bottle warmer thing. I used it when I made lots of bottles and put them in the fridge. It was easy, but then when I was out I didn't have the warmer so I gave her room temp water and she did fine. After that I stopped using the warmer and stopped making pre made bottles. I used room temp water or filtered water from the tap and she does very well. So much easier.

Some babies don't like warmed or even room temp formula. My mom said I only would take it right out of the fridge cold. You don't want to leave it out all day, but if you mix it and give it right away, that's fine if thats what your baby likes.
Remember: babies don't come with manuals, and what works for one baby may not work for yours. It's all trial and error and you have to find what works for your individual baby. (And it takes a LOT to screw them up, so don't worry about that!!)

I believe people started warming bottles just so breastfed babies would take it, because breastmilk is warm.
Try to give it to them cold, or room temp, they probably won't know the difference if they've never had the breast.

I never gave my babies room temp formula. I felt that it would be more soothing on the tummy if it was warmed up a little.

I keep a thermous of warm water and my sons formula with that. I'll boil the water let it get warm enough so it won't burn and pour into the thermous. I've never given him cold formula. My sons doctor told me to make sure the water is always warm.
