Which ones? And if not, what are we fighting for? Just trying to figure out when we will win...it helps to have clear objectives. Thanks

John, sorry, but that didn't answer the question. Unless you mean to say that we are fighting against the possibility of anyone wanting to kill an american in the future...and if that is the case. why haven't we been blowing up countries since time began? Just to make sure that one of them doesn't try and kill us? And does blowing up countries make people less likely to hate and therefore want to destroy america? I need SOECIFICS, not 'we are fighting for all freedoms'. We never lost any of them. Of course, until the PATRIOT act, but that is a different question...

John, are we doing that by arming half of the insurgency? Seems like that came back to haunt us on 9/111, maybe we need a better tactic, than taking sides in a civil war...especially taking sides with an ANTI GOVERMENT faction.

unrattled, lol, I still have both of my hands, and I don't remember a push for Sharis law that was narrowly defeated in our senate. but I appreciate you showing me how scared and irrational you are.

I just love the arguement that we are preventing Iraq from becoming a terrorist state. They seem to forget how we created the situation that allowed Al Qaida into Iraq in the first place. WE created the terrorist state for them! Islamic extremists were jailed under Hussein's reign. To fight "terror" in the one place they werent is a outright lie in an attempt to justify one man's obsession with invading Iraq. Bush planned to invade long before 9/11. Read Plan of Attack by Bob Woodward.

There are no clear objectives to this occupation, which is exactly why the invasion was a disasterous idea from the start. With no goal or end strategy, what did Bush think was going to happen? Just like all of his other failures, he neglected to see ahead to the future and only did what made him feel good that day.

The arguement that "we fight against oppression whereever it may be" is a lie as well. I dont hear a single white person posting anything about Darfur, so you cant use that arguement. There are plenty of countries where human rights atrocities have been occuring far longer than in Iraq. Plus WE are the ones who started the war! By that arguement any resistance to the US occupation is justified!

In terms of "freedom" I agree with the poster above. We seem to be fighting for the freedom to call others "traitors" when they dare speak out against the war.

We have given up more and more of our personal freedoms for the illusion of safety. This administration is a joke and history will show Bush is the worst president in American history.

alluring infant!, (desire he's yours) I hear you, however the be conscious is out forget the UN, it' sucks! they have an intensive to disaster historic previous of doing something, unhappy as that's. and as an American, i'm sorry to take heed to; yet we our usa has been sticking this is neck out so a techniques, maximum human beings are being missed top right here, our very own secure practices could rely do no longer you think of? At hire some, as much as we'd choose to: we can't shop cleansing each and every of the diapers out, and wars are persisting on a daily basis around the globe. Our missionaries are being murdered because of the fact the days bypass on, additionally, attempting to help, please do no longer say we communicate without strikes...We do lots even now. *If i individually had the capacity to maintain each and every *infant/newborn from destruction i might do it, *supply all i'm, have away, yet i've got not got that capacity; I shall *pray for the reason however, "I promise you that lots!"

Since you don't think very much I am going to help you. We are pinning down Al Qaeda so they have less ability to strike us here at home. Since you are a surrender monkey you won't grasp that concept because you want the troops pulled out and want to turn over all the oil revenue that Iraq can produce so the terrorists get even more funding and a safe haven to launch attacks in the Middle East, Europe, and here in the United States. In a Global war we can't afford to permit a safe haven, yes there is one in Pakistan and Obamy wants to attack a country with nukes. He does not provide an end game either, unlike Petraeus who has an end game now.
summer 2009 the surge will end spring 2008. You need to pay closer attention because there are things a cookin in the kitchen. Like 30,000 lb bombs being fitted to the B-2's so 60,000 pounds of ordinance can now be put on spot. Where?
I will let you do some thinking about that but it is not an empty threat.

Bush is using our military to try to subdue a resistance movement that is seeking to expel the US invasion and topple his puppet government.

In other words, we are fighting a people who want their country back. There is no "win" in such a situation. The Iraqi "government" will fall--whether we withdraw today or 10 years from now. The only question is how long the killing will continue--how many American and Iraqi lives will be sacrificed for Bush's dream of empire.

Are you kidding? Why should we be fighting for our freedom in another country and take away the freedom of people in that country? From day one, the invasion of Iraq was a grave mistake, and the longer the presence of American force there, the worser the situation there will fast become!

In a way,we are.I come right out and say it is about the oil.Without a steady flow, our economy collapses,as does the rest of the worlds'.Every facet of our economy is dependent on it.Millions could starve if the supply is disrupted. No gas in your tank,no groceries delivered to the stores if you had gas.If we leave, the place goes up in flames.Anyone who disputes that simple fact is a delusional fool.No world leader, faced with the eminent collapse of their economy and possible starvation and breakdown of society that would ensue, will allow that.I'm speaking of the BIG THREE.The US,Russia, and China.Faced with economic disaster, the nuclear option will go from unthinkable to inevitable. They benefited immensely from their oil,at the result we became addicted to it.Think about it,EVERY..SINGLE..ASPECT of the economy depends on it.There are no easy answers.By staying, however unpopular a decision that is,we may buy some time to get onto alternatives to oil.Leaving now, with the region unstable, will guarantee a much harder, harsher war within 6 months of leaving. Not a pretty truth, but truth nonetheless

We are fighting for their freedoms, but a democracy isn't the best government for them. They believe in their religion much more and need a theocracy.

We can never win it, since our objective is to neutralize "terrorism", an idea, not an actual enemy.

There's only one thing of value in Iraq. I'll give you 3 guess what it is, and it isn't sand, and it isn't cramming "democracy" down the throats of funny looking people in weird clothes. IT'S OIL. That's all the Bully Bush Gang is interested in. The rest is just a smoke screen to distract everybody..
