definitely a good pickup for the raiders... daunte also has pretty much had a year off so he is pretty fresh and will be able to do more then walters or mccown and could show jamarcus a lot about the game... culpepper is also huge and not easy to sack when he is healthy which is a plus because the raiders' o-line is so poor it's painful to watch... we just got a little better tho... can't wait for the season!

Raider fans should hope they didn't have to pay much for Culpepper. If they paid any more than the league veteran minimum they got took. The guy was never that good to begin with and the knee injuries have taken away the only attribute he ever had, his mobility. I'm not sure I'd want Culpepper showing Russell anything since all Culpepper has to offer are bad habits.

I think this is a great move by the Raiders, to sign him and not lose any compensation to the Dolphins wow. The Raiders can use his skilled, why we soon to forgets Dante Culpepper is a Pro-Bowl QB, when he lead the Vikings to the playoff and put up like 4000yards and 40 plus TD's that year. Plus McCown is not the answer to the Raiders starting QB anyway. With Dante Culpepper the Raiders might win enough games to make the playoff this year.

good only because he will be able to show Russell the ropes and make him a better QB quicker than he probably would have been otherwise. Cause Culpepper is not going to be anything anymore especially not on the Raiders he just does not have the weapons to help out like he did in Minnesota.

He's better than their other options provided he's completely healthy. Russell needs to sign and get into camp if the Raiders expect him to do anything other than hold a clipboard this year. The Raiders will still finish last in the AFC West but won't be as terrible without Culpepper.

I think it is a good move, because Russel is built almost exactly like Culpepper. Physically, they have the same abilities and tools to work with, being big, strong-armed quarterbacks who can move around well (when healthy, of course). It will be interesting to see who starts at quarterback to open the season, whether it's Culpepper, McCown, or Russel.

Yes, but only if Dante ever actually heals. He's been down and out so long, and past prime as well, that I am not yet sure exactly what he will really bring to the table. Seems like the Dolphins ended up with hat in hand for a year waiting for Dante to show up to play.

Good move only because he can teach Russell. He is washed up and will never be as good as he was in Minnesota. I bet he starts a few games before eventually losing the job to Russell.

The Raiders could use any help they can get especially after there 2-14 record last year. I think you should become a Raiderette Cheerleader and that motivate them to win some games!!!

Eh, he won't get much playing time with them drafting Russell number #1. I think he wants to start or at least be able to show some team he is able to play. Plus he will be the #3 QB on their depth chart. Good thing its only a 1 year deal cause he wont be happy being the backup's backup on a crap team!
