2004 chevy cavalier when i shift from park to drive you can feel the car jerk not just a little but a noticable one what do i need to do? when your driving it jerks to seems like it does it when the car is shifting gears i have an automatic trans

check the engine and transmission mounts, this can be done in your driveway, also this would be a great time to actually check the transmission fluid. If you take it to a fast lube to get your oil changed they usually do this. take it back to them and have them look at it again

could be as simple as changing the trans fluid or as bad as rebuilding the transmission take it to a specialist if possible...cavs are known for their weak trans good luck
