people have had issues for thousands of years. and they buried them, and ignore them and just lived with problems and baggage. some learned to cope, some never could.
today, therapy, mental illness, life problems, stress, anxiety and depression, not to mention other issues, are more out in the open. probably because over the last 20 or so years, more research has been done on the effects of stress on individuals, and about brain illness and diseases.
therapy isn't a bad thing, and in fact, it helps people every day.
people have "needed" help from the dawn of time... it's just over recent decades that medical science has paid attention.
take care.

Relationship therapy is for emotional retards. In today's society, we have all the material possessions we could ever want, so we can sit around with our thumbs up our butts thinking about ourselves and our problems. People who are emotionally intelligent and are able to express themselves and listen can handle their problems without the aid of a therapist. Unfortunately, there are a lot of stupid people on the planet.

The divorce rate is higher today than ever before it's too easy for someone to say I don't want it anymore and give up on there relationship, so I feel if more people went to therapy they would not get into it until they were sure of what your doing insted of acting on impulse.

Therapy is helpful for some, not others. Basically it can be useful for someone who is unbiased and objective to help people figure out where their issues are and good ways to deal with them.

I'm not a big one into therapy. I can work out my issues on my own. I don't need to pay anyone to talk with me. Thats what my friends are for...LOL

a whole host of reasons. i believe therapy can help people that really want to change. sometimes having that third party to help is a life saver.
