So THAT'S where I've been going wrong - for years I thought that the car would park itself automatically if it was an automatic ! ! !
SORRY ! ! ! I couldn't resist that one seeing as nobody else has come up with it ! !

I assume you are talking about parking a car between other cars, are you? Parking a car in those circumstances isn't easy and comes with practise. To park an automatic car you need to use your left foot to gently apply the brakes as you use the accelerator to guide you into place.

Park where? In a parking spot? Parallel parking? Placing the car in park? Setting the parking break? Be more specific, those of us answering might be be able to help, instead of looking at a vague question and not knowing what your looking for us to answer.

The same way that you park any car, except before you get out of the car, you put the gear level in P (park) rather than N (neutral).

Once you have gotten where you want to be, then put your foot on the brake and shift the car into P for park. Once you do it a few times iit will become second nature and you will do it and not even think about it. good luck

tell your driving instructor that you would like to practice parking more as you haven't got the hang of it, your instructor is paid to teach you. you can only learn to park by practicing not reading things of the net.
don't be so hard on yourself you've only had 2 lessons!

You park it like a manual, depending whether its a semi-auto or full auto. If its semi-auto put into to neutral when you're at full stop or PARK (P) or neutral (N) if its full auto.
Its very simple you know.
