All caps is considered yelling in online text, as I'm sure you know. If you are communicating with people who don't know about your blindness, you may offend people. All PCs have the capability of increasing/zooming the screen so 12pt font will appear many times bigger on the screen but when the message gets to the recipient, they will only see 12pt font. Poor eyesight cannot be a reason to write in all caps. Zoom your own screen.

Writing in all caps is perceived as screaming on the internet. You know, they do have plugins and applications to help your condition. Windows offers a magnifying glass to enlarge portions of the screen, and both IE and Firefox have a plugin that increases the size of text. Perhaps you should use those instead of screaming at people, or put in a disclaimer with your posts as to why you use all caps. If you are near-blind, and you type in all caps to assist you, then how do you read other's posts when they aren't in all caps?

All caps is considered rude, because it's akin to shouting, but to help you get around that- you can make the font of your browser bigger by using the Text Size setting under the View menu. Then you'll be able to read what other people write too!

YOU ARE NOT RUDE!

SOMETIMES PEOPLE ARE INSENSITIVE AND EXTREMELY JUDGEMENTAL. THE FIRST PERSON TO REPLY PRESUMES THAT YOU READ WHAT YOU TYPE INSTEAD OF PRESUMING THAT YOUR SCREEN IS ALREADY USING A LARGE DISPLAY REGARDLESS OF THE LETTER SIZE.

AS FOR YOUR OTHER QUESTION CHECK YAHOO BLOG, FORUM AND HELP FOR ASSISTANCE WITH RESOLVING YOUR ISSUE. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR SECURITY FILTERS/FIREWALLS AND BLOCKERS THAT ARE PREVENTING YOU FROM BEING ABLE TO MAKE THOSE CHANGES. TRY TO STAR A QUESTION. IF YOU ARE HAVING TECHNICAL GLITCHES IT WILL NOT WORK. IF IT DOES I WOULD TRY ADDING SOMEONE AS A CONTACT TOO AND IF THAT DOESNT WORK THEN YOU HAVE IRREFUTABLE PROOF

I HOPE THIS HELPS

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE GET ALL UPSET WHEN I TYPE IN CAPS. IT'S MY PREFERRED METHOD OF COMMUNICATION. WHO MADE UP THE STUPID RULE THAT TYPING IN CAPS MEANS YELLING. THAT IS THE DUMBEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD. I HAVE BEEN USING THE INTERNET SINCE THE BEGINNING( YOU KNOW WHEN AL GORE INVENTED IT ) YEAH OK. SO I DON'T ADHERE TO RULES THAT GEEKS MAKE UP. FOLLOWING MORE RULES IS NOT IN MY REALM OF REALITY. UNLESS IT BECOMES A LAW ( KNOWING LIBERALS IT JUST MIGHT ) I WON'T ADHERE TO IT AND IF IT OFFENDS YOU THEN YOU HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT ONLY EFFECTS YOU. WHO CARES ABOUT TYPING IN CAPS. I CERTAINLY DON'T

IF YOUR AUDIENCE KNOWS YOU ARE USING ALL CAPS FOR VISUAL IMPAIRED REASONS...THE RUDE COMMENT COULD ONLY COME FROM SOMEONE THAT WAS IGNORANT.

YOU MAY WANT TO SETUP A PRE- CAVEAT EMPTOR BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR CONVERSATIONS.

DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY ...

AND WHY DID YOU WRITE YOUR QUESTION IN ALL LOWER CASE?
