Sex became separated from love with the advent of safe, effective contraception.
Sex became recreational instead of procreational, and our society will not survive long in the absence of deep bonds of love and committment within a stable family unit.
Food became recreational with the advent of gross surplus. Our bodies are not designed for unlimited gratification of physical urges.

You're definitely in the wrong category. From what I recall of my history, sex was used primarily to procreate and for pleasure. Love is not really necessary. For an example, many cultures, in the past and now, have arranged marriages. The couples have children even though they may not love each other and that is acceptable by the cultures involved.
I think it was during the Renaissance period (I think - could've been the Middle Ages) in which romantic love was popularized and associated with sex and marriage.
The difference between sex and making love is a matter of focus. During sex, your focus is on pleasing yourself. That is a natural urge, like wanting food and it is OK. That is why the world's oldest profession is prostitution. During love-making, the focus is on pleasing your partner and that is an expression of love.

Well we can live without sex ! Just ask----ah errr I don't know how old you are .
No sex is not only an expression of love , we are urged by our hormones to reproduce- if it 'didn't feel good ---there would be very few people on earth.!!
Now for my personal opinion -No . I do not believe in sex outside of marriage and love. Sex was designed to bring children into the world. Children need loving parents to raise, nurture and get then ready to do the same thing.

In order for people who arnt getting paid to have sex there has to be some sort of attraction right? i think sex became associated with love because you used not to be able to have sex unless you were married and so usually if u marry Ur in love but i think sex is a big expression of love because its very personal but it is a compulsion to because its how humans survive by reproducing

Yes its absolutely OK. But it' up to your moral character You get what you expect! We love to have sex. We do sex so we can be loved. Sex without love can survive longer then love without sex! Ask any divorce specialist lawyer!

The simple answer is that love can lead to sex or sex can lead to love...or sex is just sex. You can live without sex, but you can't live without some kind of love. I don't necessarily mean romantic love, but you need to have people close to you who care about you and love you.

Sex is important enough that it should only be done when one is in love.

Aren't you in the wrong category?
Maybe you should add something about Abraham Lincoln, the French Revolution, or the bubonic plague in there somewhere. :-)
