this is actually a common misconception about the universe. the universe is finite yet has no boundaries. it has no center and no edge. it seems to be something like the two-dimensional surface of a three-dimensional sphere. nothing inside or outside the sphere exists for the surface. to quote a dead writer, "there's no there, there". it is space-time itself that is expanding. matter is not spreading into existing space-time.

the cosmic microwave background is from a time when the universe was 380 000 years old, and we observe it in every direction in which we look. before this time, the universe was much like a heavy fog. when the universe had expanded and cooled enuff, atomic nuclei and electrons could combine so the free electrons could no longer scatter electromagnetic radiation, and the universe became transparent. the cmb was originally black-body radiation of material at a temperature of about 3000K (kelvin), but we observe it as black-body radiation of 2.7K because of the stretching of light due to the expansion of the universe. the big bang was the whole universe, and everywhere in the universe was once the big bang. observations by nasa's microwave anisotropy probe suggest that the cmb is at least 46 billion light-years away and the universe is 13.7 billion years old. these observations also show that the redshift of the cmb is 1089. due to the expansion of space-time, the cmb is is receding at 50c.

Yo Raunak fuckfacts. F your reproduction and paste. we would have enjoyed genuine thoguhts no longer robotic. the belief of there being a parallel universe is a superb question, yet with each and every good question there is yet another question that should be asked. Its like leaping the gun to be short. I say this becuase we don't additionally be responsive to how our universe works subsequently we could no longer possibly even think of approximately yet another. because of the fact if we don't be responsive to on the subject of the makeup(rules of physic that look to alter on a daily basis) that we are cloaked in we can in no way proceed. So a greater robust question could be, How does our universe artwork? Now right this is the genuine ideas blower. There won't be able to be basically another! because of the fact each and every decision you're making could CREATED a sparkling universe! each and every thing could ought to be oppisite otherwise there could basically be one universe. following me? ok so say you wanted to goto the mall, yet in the different universe you probably did no longer. be responsive to think of of each and every of the flaws you come back to a call approximately on the mall and all the flaws you come back to a call at abode or with a chum. with each and every decision there is two or 3 achievable solutions and for each answer there could ought to be a universe. So for on a daily basis existence there could be billions of universe for one guy or woman. for the international there could be trillions abon trillions. my answer is confident there is greater universes. yet ill in no way see them.

The universe is a term used to describe all that there is so by definition, nothing can be outside it.

There is no "outside". The universe is ALL there is.

Is the same as asking "what happened before the Big-Bang"?.....nothing, as space/time didn't exist before then.

or asking where were you (as a person) before being created?....if you didn't exist then you were nowhere.

..................then again....hundreds of years ago they thought the Earth was flat and you'd fall into abyss if you went beyond the horizon.....that's why it's all theories, most likely true...but 99.9999999999% is not 100%....(but pretty damn close!)

lol people really do have some funny answers to this question.

I think this is a sort of chicken and egg questions.

I belive the universe is like a circle - becausethe universe is always expanding, what is it expanding into? Maybe it is expanding into itself...

say the 'outskirts' of the unviverse are expending - it expands right back in to the middle - we already no ther are black holes that ( in theory) can transport people into other reigons of the universe... maybe its like an alpha and omega rebirth kinda thing - i dont no

maybe there is just absolutly nothing and we expand into that - scary huh?
