Yes indeed you can. You just need a wireless router or access point. They typically run from 25$-200$ depending on the make and model. Also, your computer itself needs a wireless adaptor (runs from 15$-150$ usually depending on technology/quality involved)

Let's define a few terms and list a few points here

1. Cable internet services are wired service to the building.
2. Cable internet (and DSL as well) are not a wireless service.
3. You can install a wireless access point (wireless router or a specific wireless access point if you have a router) on your side of the modem to provide a wireless link to the wireless access point. This eliminates the need for a wired network. This is often called Wi Fi. It requires a wireless terminus.
4. Wireless uses unlicensed radio for transport. These signals can be blocked by masonry, metal (ducts, silver back mirrors, etc), and other things. Distance causes signal weakness, slow down of transmission, and ultimately transmission failure.

You did not state whether your pc links via wired or wireless to the internet service or if you have a router. It sounds like you may have a hardwire connection to the modem.

If you do not have a router you need one. If you have a router, and it is not wireless, you need to add a wireless access point which will plug into your network switch.

If you already have a wireless router and the signal cannot be detected at your location, you need to run a CAT 5 line (max 100 meters, approx 110 yd) from your network switch to reduce distance and interference now seen from the existing wireless. Use a different chanel to avoid radio interference and do not turn on DHCP on the new device. You may find that reducing the distance from 100 ft to 50 feet and on the other side of a blockage (e.g. duct work) is all you need to get signal.

u would need a wireless router. hook the cable modem into the uplink port on the back of it. here is a very popular wireless router. the wii has built in wifi, so u dont have to worry about getting an adapter.
