I concur, bright red blood could be a fissure. You can get them easily by your stool being too hard or pushing.
Sometimes there is pain with bowel movements, sounds normal. The 2nd passing of blood could be your body healing.
It sounds like there wasn't a lot of blood, that would be different all together. I'm glad you're going for a check up.

You are definately on the right track that it may be a hemorrhoid or an anal fissure...usually the pain during a bowel movement is an anal fissure...a hemorrhoid may have burst.
I work at a Colon and rectal surgeons office so I definately have seen and heard my share of these problems.
If you have a hemorrhoid that is internal, if the problem consists, they might do a procedure called a rubber band ligation which they would tied the hemorrhoid so that it would fall off by itself...its a pretty painless in office procedure.
Send me a message if you wanna know more...I can go on forever about this topic...good luck. You can also visit our website if you would like more information about different problems. crsct.us

The severity depends on how much blood you are seeing. If it is on the paper only, If it is visible in the water, If it fills the bowl. If you are not as regular as you could be and strain during a BM, this can also cause a little bleeding. Anything more that an occasional stain on the paper will require an evaluation sooner then you Doc would like. Also, look at your stoole. If they are black go to the ER. That is a sign of more extensive bleeding higher up in the GI. Sometimes if you leave a message to speak with the Doc She/He can get you in faster. They do not want your HMO finding out you went to the ER because your Doc took to many patients.

Here's a link to webmd about rectal problems. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/tc/Rectal-Problems-Topic-Overview I would be concerned about rectal bleeding, especially if you are not sure the cause. I think 3 weeks sounds like a long time to wait. If it was just a little blood when you wiped after the bowel movement then probably anal fissure but since you passed a blood clot when you had gas I would think it's something else.

If the blood is bright red then that means the problem is in your lower intestine. It could just be hemerroids/fissures but there's also the chance it could be cancer. If the doctor can't see you for 3 weeks, I'd suggest finding a new doctor or going in the emergency room.

I've had that about 3-4 times since your bm was painful it probobly is a hemroid, that what mine was or a tear 3 weeks is a bit to wait I'd call and tell them you are concerned and would liek to be seen soon, if it does not resolve, maybe a colonoscopy might be done, no big deal I had one at 21,26, and 30 years old. Good luck I think your fine

Since you mentioned diarrhea, i can't be sure this can help. But sometimes if your stool is not soft enough, it can and will 'tear' ur rectal tissue, causing the type of bleeding u mentioned. But the mucus and blood is a different issue. See a doctor right away.
