No he is not worth the money anymore. He was hurt most of last year and not terribly effective when he played. He thinks that the owe him more money. Why? Not from last season. Football is a business and with a hard cap, he has to be realistic. Also, he signed the contract, so why is he disrespecting the team by not honoring his word. Also, he had the whole off-season and most of last year when he was not playing to consider retirement. But now he makes it public right before camp. He is also mad that the Giants called his bluff about retiring.

He doesn't have much left in the tank, and he was injured 2 of the last 3 years, and while playing last year, he wasn't as much of a force as he has been in the past. That being said, I couldn't see a team giving him a really big contract. Yes, assuming he is healthy, he is good for about 10 sacks, but that number will drop next season. He may get a one or two year deal, if the Giants were to release him and he goes to a team with a glaring need. The Giants are not going to restructure his deal though. There is no reason to. They have quite a few young DE's who could step up, and there are a few available vets.

First off he is a DE not a LB and I don't beleive that he is worth the money at his old age he needs to play out his contract and then just retire.

He should just play through his contract. He's old and on the decline, if he manages to put up numbers worthy of the money he wants then maybe they can write up a contract for him next season, but I seriously doubt it.

No. No. He was a great defensive LINEMAN, but his skills are on the downslope and the Giants are not going to give him what he wants. They have the attitude"you signed this contract, honor it". Nothing wrong with that.

He is worth what he is being paid in my opinion. He is on the decline now. He is also injury prone. He will play this season and then quit.

He needs the money to fix that huge gap in his teeth, and yes he is the best LB to ever play for the Giants.
