Hi everyone, I'm planning to visit bali on the first week of sep. and i dont know which area i should stay in

i mean by area like kuta, ubud, nusa dua. by the way i love beachs area and swimming in the beach.

It depends on your budget, your age, your accomodation preference among other things. But here's a rundown on the places that you mentioned above:
- Ubud: it's the farthest from the airport and center of Bali, it's also away from the beach area. Ubud is mostly for people who enjoy quiet time and like waking up to chirping birds and a green of rice paddies. People who stay at Ubud tend to be the older crowd and the honeymooners.
- Nusa Dua: it's very popular with a lot of hotels in this area. The beach however is not that great to swim at, and the area is still a bit far from the center of Bali. People who stay at Nusa Dua tend to be more family oriented.
- Kuta: probably the most crowded of them all. This is where you can find a lot of budget hotels and motels, it's close to the beach, and the beach is surf-able. People who stay at Kuta tend to be the backpackers, surfers, younger and hipper crowd enjoying the nightlife.

In addition, I would like to add 2 other areas:
- Seminyak: very close to Kuta, but it's quieter and more upscale than Kuta. You still have the great beach, great cafes and shops lining up the street, but it's all more expensive than Kuta. People who stay at Seminyak tend to be young and hip with money to spend.
- Jimbaran: it's where the beach offers plenty of watersports and activities. The place is quieter than Kuta and Seminyak. People who stay at Jimbaran tend to be family oriented, and young crowd who enjoys peace and quieteness.

So take your pick, I personally enjoy Jimbaran and Seminyak.

If you are a beach person, Try Nusa Lembognan. This is a small Island off the coast that has no cars. It feels like The Bali of thirty years ago. Great diving and surfing and really laid back.
I also really like Ubud. This is a great little town that is slow paced and beautiful. Unless you like loud night life and being hit up for a massage every 5 steps, Stay out of Kuta.

You will have fun whereever you go. Bali is great.

Kuta, Sanur, Nusa Dua and Candidasa has the best beaches! Ubud is a much tuned down town! It is best for cultural side of Bali!!!

all the areas has it unique attractions.

Kuta : great nightlife, lots of tourist, budget hotel, crowded
Ubud: rice field, great town, fresh air
Nusa dua: exclusive tourist area, expensive shops, private beach>>>you can swim here...but watch out for the water level and wave
