I've been to one (Katy Mills Mall in Katy, Texas). The food was typical Landrys/Fertitta restaurant fare, meaning it was nothing special. I had a nice enough CFS (chicken fried steak) and my wife had a decent enough chicken fried chicken that you could have gotten from any chain restaurant. You really don't go for the food.
The atmosphere was fun. Lots of jungle scenes (we were seated by the elephant) and the lighting goes from day to night to day again (with an afternoon thunderstorm). This happens every fifteen minutes or so. If you are going with kids, they'll love it. I enjoyed it, and my wife enjoyed it, but after an hour and a half we were "rainforested out" and went home.
Prices were reasonable (maybe a buck or two more per entree than most other chains), but you pay that little extra for the ambiance. Oh, also you'll probably enter THROUGH the gift shop. Clever guy, that Tillman Fertitta.

The food is just like an average chain, like an Applebees. I was at the one near Fisherman's Wharf in SF. It's a cool concept, but it was so loud you had to scream across the table for a conversation, and it's very dark. And the service was extremely slow. As far as photos, someone comes around and offers to take a photo and frame it in a little cardboard holder, just like back in the 1950's and 60's. That's about another $6 per photo, but they do turn out great.
So I think it's OK, just go for the one-time experience, not so much the food.

I love that place because of the atmosphere. The food is just alright, nothing fantastic. But the drinks are great! The scenery is all worth it though. I go at least once a month. And the gift shop is awesome!

I have been to two - one in Downtown Disney in Orlando, FL and one in Niagara Falls, Canada.
It is a fun place to eat - the food is good, but you really go for atmosphere. Make sure to walk around the restaurant before you leave so you can see all the different things in the dining room.

I really like it. The decorations etc. are fun and the food's pretty good. It particularly good if you're going there with kids (although my 3 year old cousin got a little scared when the "thunderstorm" bit started up). It's quite pricey, but its definitely fun.

It's beautiful and the food is great. It's kinda dark in there so it was hard to take pictures...I think they have a gift shop too. You'll love it. Enjoy =]

Nice scenery... The food is good, just a little overpriced. Try their dessert- the volcano, you won't regret it!
