I had two computers on a network before, one was reformatted and we put all the information back on it.

Computer 1 can see computer two on the workgroup computers but can't access it... all the options are set up for sharing on the network, sharing is on for all the drives and everything else..

I can't get computer 2 to view computer 1 at all...

Please help me i need to setup these two computers for work...

It sounds like computer 1 is not set for network sharing of folders. I would check this first. You may require an admin log in from computer 2 to a valid admin account on computer 1 but you should see the prompt for this.

both on the same subnet? both in the same workgroup? try start > run > \\hostname if that works it may be a delay in the browsing service, just reboot.

if it doesn't try start > run > \\tcp-ipaddress. if that works and hostname doesn't its probably in a different workgroup or file and print sharing is disabled. if neither works, you have a network problem, maybe wrong subnet mask or eithernet problem

1st check all connections.
Then goto My Netwk connections, view ntwk connections, the connection icon see if it says connected. if so :
I would suggest manually configuring static ip addresses and subnet masks on both PC's. Use 169.254.x.y since you have no DHCP server.
To do this right click on the icon and select "properties" then goto TCP/IP and again click "properties" take off the auto IP address assign and configure both with static IP addresses. It's kind of hard to understand what's going on w/o seeing those boxes. Hope this helps , good luck

Try another NIC(Network Interface Connection/Ethernet Card) in Pc #2...

Sounds like you have everything setup properly - it's gotta be one NIC or the other.

too long a question
try to set up with a program called network magic
http://www.networkmagic.com

once you have it set up you can either buy the premium version once the month trial or see that it can be done and work backwards
