That's the story of my boyfriend and I. We were best friends for a long time, then we got together. And we're closer than ever. He's my best friend in the entire world. I can tell him anything. And the best part is, when the other needs to talk, we turn off boyfriend/girlfriend mode and go into friend mode and just listen without getting all emotional and freaked out.
It's very possible.

ha ha...erm what a question. my friend is my lover...but neither of us want a serious relationship at the moment...and we would never go down that road...we will always be friends who have sex wen we are both single...if you can keep it like that then yeah its cool...but there is a risk of 1 of you wanting more from the other, then that can be a nitemare for your friendship..but if you both end up serious about eachother then it would be probably the best relationship and have a very good chance of lasting the distance.. thats my opinion..hope it was helpfull...do you both want the same things out of it...you are both adults...talk about it.have fun...lol.x

Yes, friendship makes love stronger because you know the person better and yes, lovers can stay best friends if they trust each other and don't harbor any resentment.

Definitely! A comforting moment might turn into that moment where you realise this person is the one. You have to be careful though if you start arguing, you might lose a friend as well as lover.

My wife (of 17 years) started as best friends for over a year. It's rare, but I believe it is the best way to have a long term, successful relationship. It is not based upon lust, but rather enhanced by passion.
