First of all, A&F doesn't mean someone is rich. I've been in the store and the stuff is moderately priced, at best. Now, if you were wearing Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, etc. to school everyday, then I'd say you were rich. With that being said, I personally think A&F, Hollister and all the other droid brands out there show a lack of original style. The clothes are plain and kind of boring, imho. And it kind of shows someone likes to "fit in" because "like everyone whos anyone wears Abercrombie!" It's kind of lame.
People with an original sense of style and a mind of their own will shop any and everywhere, from thrift shops to Barney's, and not pick an item solely because it's a particular brand, but because of the magic of the item itself.

If I was rich, I wouldn't shop at Abercrombie. I'd be all over the designer boutiques! Haha..
Maybe you shouldn't only JUST shop at Abercrombie? It makes you seem like you're trying to hard to fit that preppy stereotype. I get a few things from Abercrombie, but not everything. Mix it up a little! I'm not telling you to buy clothes from Wal-Mart, but try some other stores.

I can't speak for everyone, but here are a few things that turn me off of A & F.
1. Their clothes are grossly overpriced for what they are.
2. They promote buying crap just because of the name.
3. Considering how much of their clothes are just big advertisements for themselves, they should pay YOU to wear them.
As far as you being preppy is concerned, preppy and rich people tend to be stuck up, selfish, greedy, and unkind. Sure, there are many exceptions, and perhaps you are one of those exceptions. I, for one, won't judge you for it. But when you consider what jerks a lot of preppy and rich people are, it is natural that people would treat you that way. Of course, it is not right and you should be judged as an individual, but that is the reason some people act the way they do. I recommend that you take the high road, act mature, be generous, treat people with love and respect, and you'll take big steps toward overriding these stereotypes. Good luck!

Most of the people who wear those clothes and shop there have an attitude as well. Not all. I have a friend who shops there and he's really nice, gets along with everyone and even listens to some black metal. So maybe they're just seeing your outward appearance.
Try going outside the box sometime. A&F isn't everything and I can think of stores that have better prices, styles and quality than A&F.

Okay, Abercrombie doesn't mean your rich, ok. I think your full of yourself for wearing Abercrombie. You sound like a stuck up snob "People should like me for who I am, not because I'm rich." Abercrombie isn't even expensive, I have plenty of stuff from there and you don't see me telling people I'm rich, which I'm not. I hate people like you who just say their rich when really it's their parents. Your rich- sure, how much money do you yourself have?? And I don't think people joke about how your preppy and rich, middle and highschoolers don't think abercrombie is for the preppy and rich. I wear it all the time and I've never gotten a comment like that. People shouldn't like you till you loose that bratty attitude of yours. By the way hun, compared to D&G, Juicy, and pretty much any brand at Neiman's, Abercrombie is cheap. Hun, your not so rich.

SarahK said it well. You, child, are not rich as you're likely still a minor. Technically, everything you own is your parents', making you destitute. I personally find Abercrombie and the like expensive, but then, I am also happily and proudly cheap. (In my 30 years of life, I've not paid more than $20 for an article of clothing. With the exception of a couple of pairs of shoes I bought this year because I literally needed them, I've not paid more than $6 in the past two or three years.)
Some might just see you as bragging. To me, most of the mall stores sell the same mass produced cookie cutter dribble that was very likely produced in overseas factories with working conditions that were likely outlawed in the US a hundered years ago.
I also agree with the comments about the preps being the ones who were too concerned about fitting in and being liked and feeling as though they have to look like everybody else to fit in. That's the way it was 15 years ago in my Indiana high school and it looks as though it hasn't changed.
I also think that the clothing is way too overpriced for what it is. Tiny little skirts that barely cover anything that needs to be covered for way too much money, "distressed" jeans at overinflated prices, low cut, tight shirts... Yuck. What's the point?
Yes, I am rich. We're blessed with a house (on which we pay neither rent/mortgage or utilities; It's a parsonage and our church provides it for us), two paid-for cars, and more stuff than what we need. (A problem that has been more evident as we pack for our move next week.) We have a full pantry, fridge and freezer. We have plenty of clothing. We have luxury items such as two PCs and two laptops. I'm blessed to be able to stay home and will be able to do so after our baby is born, even though my husband will be back in school for his final year of seminary (where he will achieve his master's of divinity degree). According to the federal government, though, we live below the poverty line. However, one certainly wouldn't think that by looking at us.
I am thankful that my parents did not raise me to be materialistic. My goal now, is to eliminate as much stuff as possible, so we maybe no longer need the biggest moving van, or if we do, it's only for our child(ren)'s stuff like dressers, clothing, beds, etc.
Also, I don't hate a business. I may not agree with their practices, but I don't hate them. Also, I do not hate people, especially those whom I do not know. Again, I may not agree with what they do, but I do not hate them. It's a waste of time, emotional, spiritual, and physical energy.

in the past for example i have had prepps always makin fun of me, because im not rich like them. i'm doing really good now i mean i live in an expensive neighbor hood. but like i was saying, prepps use to be so stuck up and snobby that i thought they were all the same. i mean theyn would talk behind my back. and even sometimes talk about me because i was african american. now if they say something behind my back i confront them because that hurts. also i dont have nothing against abercrombie and fitch, but i dont like there clothes and stuff. but i mean im not gon talk bout someone who shops there and acts like that, but i there gon talk bout me im going to confront them. so like if i see you in the at school r something i might go up to u and say hi or try to be friends or somethin, but usally just stick to the other african americans. i hope it doesnt sound like im bein racist cause im not, but i have had so many bad confrontations with prepps. i have many many white friends. Good Luck

As for judging you, I agree. When I was in school I had friends from all circles, because I tried to get to know people for who they are.
But as for the Abercrombie thing, I can give my view on why I boycott the brand.
They try WAY too hard to make VERY young girls look "sexy". A ten year old does not need a thong that says "promiscuous" or "eye candy" or "daddy's girl" in glitter on the crotch. That borders on kiddie porn in my book. And I don't want my kids to grow up thinking you need to look and act like that to be popular or loved.
But if you truly like the brand, wear it with pride. Wear what you like, how you like it, and pay no attention to what others think about it. Be your own person.

Well I don't like preps because of who they are. You may not be that way and I have a few preppy friends, but the rest of the preppy people are just annoying. They say like like every like two seconds, I can tell you do too when you are in a conversation, and a lot of preps wear ab&f, and I personally HATE that store because the clothes are DISGUSTING. They are expensive, overrated, and soo many bigger girls can't wear their stuff but try anyway, thus leading to big girls wearing tiny shirts. It's disgusting. I hate hate hate that style. And people that joke about you being rich are being playful. They aren't doing it to spite you. You'll get over being teased. You aren't the only one. You probably tease people that aren't preppy, and if you don't, I know your friends do. You get upset when you get called preppy because of the clothes you wear, but that happens with EVERYONE. I wear Hot Topic, Spencers, et cetera, and I get called emo, punk rocker, skater, poser, and scene. So don't you dare pretend you are the only one getting judged. You aren't.
And this answer "
I am a prep and i asked some pukrockers and sum nerds and sum regular people.. they hate prepps because of how they talk they think we alll talk like " Omg that is like so freakin stupid like dude i am so freakin cool like Omg" and thats not true also i think they r jeoulis because we have self_confidence and they r too scared to stand out...Also we steal they boyfriends...lol"
Should show you exactly why "we" hate "preps".
She asked pukrockers. I'm assuming she meant punk rockers.
Nerds? No, she doesn't judge at all.
"Preps" don't stand out. They all wear the same thing, how is that standing out?
We're JEALOUS? (She spelled that wrong, by the way) OF WHAT? Wearing ugly clothes just because all of your like bffs like wear them all the time?
Yeah, we have no reason to hate preps. Just because "they" steal "our" boyfriends doesn't give us reason not to like them.
LOL is overrated anyway. Use haha or hehe every once in a while.
God, whoever gave you that answer is really stupid, and a natural prep.
And I quote, directly from you, "i bet you dont have any clothing from abercrombie, unlike me who has everything from there". Nope. You aren't judgemental, you are nothing like almost all the other preps. You're a *****. I hate to curse like that, but you deserve it. You are so hypocritical. People don't like you because you judge others just like they judge you. Stick with your preppy friends. You won't have luck with any other people.
Another point I'd like to make again..
WE AREN'T JEALOUS OF YOU. WE HAVE NO REASON TO BE.

It sounds like you are a snob. Having money and buying the "in" clothes makes people think you are full of yourself. You seem obsessed with your clothing. What about the person in the clothes ? What do they believe in ?
