I think they could make it. The song was really good and had a good pop feel. Go for it.

Latin pop groups can make it big in the US, but as far as I know it can only be done with a great record label, producer, and marketing. Recently it's been achieved most notably by Shakira and Juanes (neither of whom are Mexican, I know). There are also plenty of great pop/rock groups that are immensely talented but can't make it over here. I'm personally a huge fan of La 5a Estacion, but no one here has ever heard of them, much less bought one of their CDs.
In short, I think the way to do it is push it onto as many major American record labels as they can and see what happens. That's the only way to make it big here. Unfortunately the quality isn't as important as the selling.

Well, the great marketing worked for Menudo back in the 80's and english only folks were the top purchasers of their albums.
