Not at all, Aaron is a class act and has every right not to be there without being disrespectful. If he goes he is giving the impression he is supporting Bonds and he doesn't want to lend his name to that controversy and wind up right in the middle. He is doing the right thing by staying away and letting the chips fall where they may.

I don't think it's disrespectful at all. Hank Aaron owes absolutely to Barry Bonds. Was Mark McGwire there when Bonds hit his 71st homer in 2001? Not that I recall, and nobody says a thing about that. There is no telling when Bonds will break the record, and I'm sure that Aaron has a lot better things to do then chase him around waiting for him to break it. I think this is a matter of personal choice for Aaron, and he's made it. His decision not to be there will in no way influence my opinion of him as a great ballplayer and a wonderful human being.

I think that Hank Aaron would be there to cheer Bonds on if he wasn't "enhanced". It cannot be a fair contest if one is on steroids and the other one isn't. It is a shame that athletics cannot be drug free these days. Hank Aaron won his record honestly, without performance enhancing drugs. I doubt seriously that Barry Bonds can say the same. Why would Hank Aaron want to honor Bonds' "record breaking" home run with his presence?

Not at all, he can do whatever he wants. I support his decision. As far as the home run record goes, once Bonds breaks it, I will still consider Aaron to be the all-time home run hitter, until someone else, like A-Rod comes along and breaks Bonds' record. If Aaron doesn't want to be there, he doesn't have to be. Besides, that means he would have to attend every single Giants game until it happens, and that a could take a couple of weeks. He has a life and it doesn't include attending every Giants game until Bonds breaks the record.

I don't know what else has been answered so if I repeat something...my bad.

Hank Aaron doesn't have to do anything Hank Aaron doesn't want to do. If he wants to "go on vacation" anytime he's close to a ball park Bonds is playing at, so be it.

The commish. is the only person who needs to be there. He, along with so many other people, ignored the fact that the steroid era existed. If he doesn't show up, he's the biggest hypacrit (sp?) ever.

No
We can't tell what game the record will be broken, and to set oneself up for that kind of commitment would be ridiculous. A photo-op after the fact may be in order though. The two home run kings in the same photo is something we didn't have the opportunity to see when Aaron went past Ruth. Just come in take a few photos and sell them for charity's sake.

No why should he?
He shouldn't have to follow Bonds around waiting like Selig's doing.
He has nothing to do with baseball right nw and he's probably piised about the whole thing!
He had to work his asss off to get that...and there was plenty of racism and death threats and he DIDN'T cheat.
Bonds cheated his wya to where he is and if Aaron was there to see it he'd probably have a piissed/sad look on his face and he might cry....so why make himself look like an asss to the whole Nation?
For what?
No it's not disrespectful...he has a life and he shouldn't drop everything to see it. And I garantee Bonds woon't if he's alive for it either.

Absolutely not! Henry Aaron is an adult, can make his own decisions and definitely would not disrespect baseball if he did not follow the chase.

At that age, I would not want the rigors of air travel, sleeping in unknown hotels and traversing foreign streets. It may be a vacation to some, but would put tons of wear and tear on someone elderly due to nobody predicting a specific date of it happening.

Its not disrespectful because who actually expects Hamerin' Hank to chase Barry around the country as he tries to break the record. He is not choosing to not attend because he wants to disrespect Barry he is just too old to be following the Giants around because it is not certain when the record will actually be broken

No. He didn't Juice.

I can't wait for Bonds to get tired in the BALCO case and get burned. He cheated and he knows it. All he ever say about the subject is, "I have never tested positive."

You would think if the guy didn't use the "stuff" he would just come out and say so, but no.... it always "I have never tested positive."

Screw Bonds. I hope he gets snubbed from the hall like Rose. Hank will always be the real home run king.
