It´s not what you can put in , it´s what you have to take out. Mice only live where there is a source of food . So even if your house is clean , they will still stay in your home. First thing I can suggest you do is, Keep all food stuff in tight lidded container´s. Sweep the kitchen floor ,or better still pass the hoover when ever you finish working in the kitchen at night, and the garbage is put outside before going to bed. They work at night looking for the smallest morsel to eat. Any cracks or small holes fill then with cement and cover with fine wire, Set trap´s with bate of either chocolate or peanut butter. Best not to use poison. because if you can´t reach the dead mouse , you will then have another problem with the smell. You can put mothballs and peppermint in the cupboards where you keep your towel.s , but This will give you yet another problem , how to rid the smell from the towels. Try find the holes they are coming from and seal them & don´t invite them to stay for dinner.

They say peppermint oil and spearmint oil will repel mice. Who knows but at least your cabinets will smell nice!

I'd suggest an aggressive trapping campaign to get rid of them. Even if you do repel them, they will still be around spreading their urine and feces all over the place.

Can you put your cat in the cupboard for about 20 minutes, so the smell of cat permeates your linens?

Mice build nests in our grill and hot tub over the winter, because they can get in those places without cats.

You better get a cat. A mouse in a cabinet is a sure sign you have them heavy. They carry pretty dangerous germs.

Set a trap and get them out of there. If they are chewing they are probably nesting to get ready for babies. . . .
