Like: Have a dish at home, then go down to London or somewhere, and connect to that dish wirelessly? - Or have a new ISP and connect anywhere from that?

you have to be within range of a hotspot, about a 100 - 300 foot radius is typical. Then it depends on if its free or not. but WiFi and satelite are 2 different technologies

You can only connect through a wireless hot spot. Few of them in the UK are free, sadly. Most hotels have them as do many coffee shops, restaurants, cafes, etc.

There are a number of wireless ISPs and if you have an account with one of them you can access the 'net from any of their hotspots.

There's no way to connect to a satellite or a home-based dish with one.

You have to be within a certain distance of the transmission which will likely be within a 100ft. The transmitter must also have an open proxy so that anyone can use the bandwidth. My mate lives next door to a hotel, and he uses their internet all the time, for free.
