I have never once encountered a deliberatly sterile guppy from any of the many, many I have purchased from over the 20+ years I have been breeding them for shop and sale. Nor have I met a breeder that does that, nor have I met anyone that has ever known a breeder that does that. Honestly, I think the entire idea is a myth.

Look at the shape of her belly as she gets larger. It should begin to take on an almost squared off look at the very back. She will get not only fat, but "boxy" looking when it's near time for the fry. I assume you have had all of your guppies in the same tank for over a week and in that case there is practically no doubt she is pregnant.

I've raised quite a few guppies over the years, if this guppy has given birth since you've owned her, I guarantee she is pregnant now. But if you bought the trio from a breeder, they sometime give you sterile ones on purpose lest they encourage competition on boutique guppy sales.

Healthy, fertilie (and impregnanted) guppies are good for about a brood a month so you shouldn't have to wait long!
