I don't assume a thumbs down is from the asker because anyone with a Level 2 and above could be giving a thumbs down. So you never know who gave the thumbs down/thumbs up.

Not always. If its an "opinion" question, then yeah, it was probably the asker. lol If its a "fact" question, then it could be the asker or could be just a random person. If you are one of the first few answerers, trolls usually give thumbs down for no reason at all.

Some askers don't give thumbs, so no one can assume that. I know some people thumb the questions I ask and I don't necessarily do it myself. I hate to believe that people giving me their answers think that I gave them a thumb down.

Sometimes I do but most of the time I assume it's other users who don't like what I had to say even if it was non-judgmental, thorough & informative. *sigh* c'est la vie!!
Example: I recently answered a question where a girl was honestly asking if a tampon could make her lose her virginity. I rolled my eyes so hard at that one (people worry me) but I gave an informative answer telling her no & explaining why not....someone gave me a thumbs down & I'm assuming it was from one of the people who, sadly, do think it does. Ugh!

Not really - normally I assume that it was given from an individual who simply didn't share my beliefs, or didn't like what I had to say - they think their way is the right way.
Even in POLLS, for crying out loud. I got a thumbs down for answering YES to a question when they asked if I had ever eaten eggs with ketchup.

No, it depends on the asker...If the asker is a smart A, and i know that then I answer accordingly. If someone gives me a thumbs down then I just assume they don't get me.

You never know. A lot of the time someone goes through the answrs giving everyone thumbs down. I usually give everyone that answers my questions a thumbs up.
