I don't know your budget so that makes it hard but I'll assume you don't have a private jet waiting in the wings:... two ends of the financial spectrum

1) A weekend ... try Catalina - is close and easy to get to. The food is so-so, but the evening atmosphere and the daytime options (diving, hiking, etc..) should make a nice weekend getaway

2) Pack a great dinner.. wine... good food... don't forget flowers, candles and some soft music... maybe even folding chairs and a table and drive somewhere scenic and open or special (maybe where you first met).. dont tell her about the meal being in the trunk.. just that you are going out to dinner.

Get there... set it up quickly.. and enjoy the night

Try Lucques Restaurant on Melrose (http://www.lucques.com).

The food is fantastic, and the setting is equally awesome. Excellent wines. Try to get a seat on the patio with the gorgeous stone walls. Their Sunday night suppers are one of the best deals in Southern California - a full meal for $40 or so per person.

When you're finished dinner, you can stroll up to Sunset or nearby areas to shop, people watch and go to a club.

Congrats and enjoy!

Take her to the Orange Hill restaurant located at 6410 E Chapman Ave. It's used to be a mansion that was made into a restaurant, on top on the hills in the city of Orange. After dinner, you can have drinks out on the firepitted patio. Or try the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach, they have restaurants that overlook the beach and they have lots of art galleries or take a ferry ride.
