I don't know but area 51 may have some alien technology.Area 59 ,I think is the 7-11 parking lot.

Area 51 is nothing more than a high level storage facility at this point in time and HAS been for some while now !! Because of all of the attention TO this place -- the primary operations that were being conducted there have been moved to a new facility in the far northern region of the USA and in a place that is extremely remote and inaccessable in any manner except by air !! It has an extremely large security perimeter that makes it impossible for anyone to come even remotely close to it or observe anything going on there even with aid of the most powerful of aides !! They have the highest level of jamming gear on board making even satellite observations impossible !!
There are no less than eight seperate projects that are being conducted there -- with retro-engineering of alien technology and black ops exploration being at the head of the list -- and at least one program at the cutting edge of the HAARP program !! People who work there are not even allowed to talk to people in their own department about what they are doing without there being an expressed protacol to do so -- and THAT conversation completely supervised by overseers !! Some little "deal" ---- huh ??? And, do you realize that not even Senators or Congressmen have the clearence to visit this place ?? Really really deep !!!

If you mean area 51.
Think its mainly a base for USAF's high tech reconnaissance vehicles, such as the U2 and Blackbird spy planes, and, likely as not, vehicles as yet unknown to the public, such as those used in prototype testing/evaluation projects. Maybe there's some processing facilities for intelligence data collected.
IF aliens, or their vehicles, have been found/retrieved I don't think they would be in Groom lake itself, there's too many people in an active military base.
The debris from the original Roswell incident is consistent material used in high altitude balloons (useful for reconnaissance), which fits with the type of activity at Groom Lake, so the USAFs story might be a subset of real events.

A hoax perpetrated by the government to cover up a secret project or an extraterrestrial object.
Imagine that you want to hide a big 'something'. You set up your secret facility somewhere, but you know any really nosy individual is going to find it....so you send them off on a wild goose chase. You set up a second 'secret' base, leak information of strange goings on, flatly deny them and shroud the whole thing in mystery. Scooby and the Gang will be so busy trying to find out what is happening at your 'secret base' that the real installation where you are conducting your experiments is safe.
Misdirection....Stage Magicians do it all the time, why not the Government?

Area 51 contains an airfield whose primary purpose is believed to be the operation and analysis of enemy aircraft and weapons systems, and secret development and testing of new military aircraft.
Area 51 is the frequent subject of UFO conspiracy theories.

to the best of my knowledge area 51 was set up after the 2ND world war at the time of the cold war as its called the idea was to have a top secret base that none would know what happen inside so it would keep the other side guessing and using resources to find out what was behind this base but who knows

Probably a bunch of paranoid government officials and top scientist working on who know what.
I was at the White Sands Missile Range once and saw some of the older secret planes. Just watch certain TV programs and you'll get a hint of what might be out there.

Just like the men that landed on the moon did it happen ?
We will never know the truth
However we can hope one day the truth will come out however I don't think in my life time it will : )
