Have you tried Old Navy. They have gotten much better and you can get alot more cloths for your money! And, they are preppy. Or H&M! AT AE or Hollister $50 is not enough for 1 pair of pants!

I second thrift stores. When I was in high school, in the early 90s, "preppy" was things like khakis, golf (polo) shirts, loafers, etc. What is also knows as business casual today. I went more grunge in high school (yes, I'm showing my age; I'm a happy 30), but today, I do more preppy, even for daily stuff.
I also second thrift stores. Good stuff can be found there and at some places, most is around $5. Jeans are jeans. I have gotten most of mine (except for one maternity pair, which I bought new because I needed them, literally) from thrift stores. My favorite pair is from Express-- Low cut, and wonderfully, wonderfully long. (I'm six feet tall. They hit the floor which I hadn't experienced with pants since I was a still growing child.) I found them at Goodwill for $4. At the Goodwills at which I used to shop in Columbus, OH they had discount colors (the clothes were randomly tagged with different color plastic things, the type that hold the price tags). Every week one color was 50% off, the other 75%. Being the cheap person I am, I mostly looked for the 75% off colors, but when I saw how great these jeans fit, I HAD TO buy them.
I digress.
Personally, I could take $50 and buy several outfits. As been said, jeans can be worn a couple of times before a wash. Khakis can, too. I also do that with blouses--- Wear them two or three times before washing them. It stretches out laundry days and just makes life easier. Stretchy cotton shirts (i.e., fitted Ts) seem to "need" to be washed after one or two wearings. Eh.
I also personally avoid regular retail because I don't see the point in buying new when there is a plethora of clothes out there and I prefer to reuse if it's possible. Also, this way, I'm not supporting multi-gabillionaires, slave labor, etc. I find it more environmentally, economically, and socially responsible.
Rummage sales are good, too. They're often cheaper than thrift stores. Over the summer, I got another pair of maternity jeans, a pair of maternity khakis and a maternity shirt (I can still wear most of my shirts, even though some of the Ts are worn over a long, layering tank top to cover the belly panel, but I liked that one) all for $1 each. The jeans and khakis are big, still.
The consignment shop, Plato's Closet, supposedly has newer clothes, but I've not really been to one.
Anyway, I hope my rambling has helped.

Try checking out their sites before you go...
www.ae.com
www.hollisterco.com
www.abercrombie.com
If you're small enough you can fit into Abercrombie Kids, which would be great because it's Abercrombie clothes with Hollister prices XD.
Try getting your jeans at Wet Seal. If I wasn't so tall I'd get my jeans there. They're only like $20 a pair. Also, you don't need a new pair of jeans for every outfit. You can wear jeans at least twice before rewashing and not be skanky.
Try the clearance racks, and cheaper stores for like undershirts, basic camis, and stuff for layering.
Only get your top layer shirts from Hollister or Abercrombie, with a $50 budget per outfit I'd say stick with Hollister and AE. Did you know that Hollister and Crombie are run by the same overall company, and that's why they're clothes are so similar!
Hope I helped!

I''m going into 9th grade. I need to be on a budget too. I shop for my jeans at Aeropostale and 1 or 2 at Hollister. Then, I get a few Aeropostale shirts. Go to Hollister and Abercrombie and go to the clearance. There are tops and bottoms that were once $60 that are now $10-$20!! Or go to Plato's Closet,
T-J Maxx and Marshalls. They have name brand preppy clothes for cheap. Also try Gordmans, Payless, Kohls and Old Navy.

Try looking on the clearence rack [[shocking I know]] If that don't suit your fancy...buy your jeans from somewhere else [[like target, walmart, stage etc]] and get the cute tops from your selected stores. Also try Aeropostale, same style clothes for those who are on a budget.
In the future, buy your jeans at the END of the winter season when the store starts to put all of their summer line out..this is when it is the cheapest to buy them.
Hope this helped! have a great 8th grade year :-)

attempt buying at thrift shops or good will for somewhat decrease priced outfits. If thrifting isn't probably your element, attempt life like shops like love way of existence or moist seal. it is likewise consumer-friendly to alter your preppy form into something punk. attempt procuring some black dye and loss of life your outfits or purchase some military dye and dye your easy wash denims a darker wash. Studding your outfits an shoes is likewise an excellent thank you to function a punk flare to any cloth cabinet and is lots greater low-priced then procuring pre studded outfits. shops like forever21 particularly have a huge variety of varieties at decrease priced expenses. i've got considered somewhat cool leather-based products there as properly as spectacular studded jewelery! good luck!

you dont even have to shop at those stores. my cousin has that prep punk rock look and she layers her polo shirts (department stores, wetseal, forever 21, target)
white jeans, denim jeans, and trendy beige jeans/pants. flip flops, polo sneakers, pearl necklaces and multi colored headbands.
the 5th answer is a liar- she has nothing from any of those stores. People who really shop their don't go braggin about it.
