Well they are both in the top two or three at their position in their sport. But it is hard to compare these two sports for being drastically different. The one thing I would say is that it is tougher to become a better player because in baseball you play both offense and defense; Peyton Manning can only do so much to help his team win without making mistakes and until the NFL season starts I don't feel confident about the Colts defense they played way above their heads in the playoffs last season.

Hey a fair comparison. They are both considered great in the regular season, and they both CHOKE when the playoffs start. Here is a thought though, the QB is the team LEADER by face and Peyton Manning turned INDY into a BIG MARKET. A-Rod ISN'T Captain(Jeter has that position) and is in New York, which was already a MAJOR MEDIA MARKET. Texas GOT RID OF A-ROD. I don't see Indy getting rid of Manning. To be honest in the end I say Peyton Manning is the better player.

You can't really compare the two because in football a quarterback can carry his team and in baseball one player can't do it all. But if I had to choose I would say Alex Rodriguez is better because he does the single hardest thing to do in sports hit a white speck coming at you at 70 to 100 mph.

Payton Manning by far. No competition. Alex has never stepped it up in the post season and his stats considerably drop come playoff time. Manning is a superbowl champion. Unless A-Rod finds a way to step it up not just in April and May, but the playoffs I don't know how he can be considered an all time great player.

good question but i would have to say that its too early to really compare them. the second half of both of their careers is just now beginning and what they can do in that second half may decide whether each is known as the greatest QB or baseball player ever.
but my opinion is that peyton manning is better. They both have had great stats in their career and had their trouble in the post-season but Manning got over his troubles this year and he doesnt pull as much "unsportsmanlike" things like A-rod does. i also think being a qb is more physically (have to take hits alot) and mentally demanding
