Wow!!! Are you a mind reader, or what??? I worked (notice the past tense) with my best friend this summer... Although I've admonished him throughout the years about taking shortcuts, he has never heeded my advice...so it's been one financial disaster after the next for him... I saw and experienced it up close and personal...Watching him is like watching a train wreck in slow motion and not being able to do a thing about it...

Yeah I know one of those. And she acts like she's stunned when it all falls apart! Anyone with eyes can see her carefully construct these rotten situations and she's still amazed when it all falls apart. With my friend, I used to think it was just immaturity and now I know it's some form of insanity. One cannot keep doing the same thing for 20 years and expect a different outcome every time. That's just plain crazy.

You just described the life I'm living right now!! And all I can say is...I so empathize, sympathize and wish you all the best. My best friend of 20+ is a disaster zone, and I'm always right there helping him out. Ugh. Tiring, isn't it?

Yes, my sister. We've all given up on trying to help her. She used to come to me or someone else in the family and beg for help, but then when you try, she changes her mind. She doesn't even call me anymore and she only calls my parents when something is wrong in her life. Sad, it really is.

Not at the moment. I've had that situation arise before though. I'm pretty easy on that though. I try to help as much as I can.

Every workplace has one...when they start moanin' and groanin' about how miserable they are you just want to cut them off and say "Will you get a life?". If you try to suggest things to help them they just ignore you anyway...

I think we all know or work with people like that. And many times, they end up hiring me to help get them out of their problems.
