Oliver Wendell Douglas was stressed out quite often and his only source of agricultural advice was the very confused,Hank Kimbal.

I guess Fred Ziffel did ok,though.

Sometimes you have to separate the chaff from the wheat. I am a farmer with employees from all around the world. I have a crew of international harvesters. My wife was hollering to me when I was temporarily indisposed in the lower forty acres. I finally had to yell back, " I am on the john, deer." Many of my employees have a laid back kind of " Oh shucks" attitude, as corny as it seems. There seems to be a real pecking order come picking time. But all in all, being a farmer is a bushel of fun. With grain there is no strain. If the stress gets to be too much, I drive down to the Happy Heifer Bar and Grill and just get plowed.

further to Bonsai's comment (which by the way had me roaring with laughter), Oliver's main source of stresses came from the following OTHER peeps - in no particular order:
Eb Dawson, the bumbling farmhand
Mr. Haney, who's deals were never quite deals
and Lisa herself, sweet, innocent savvy Lisa- whom he adored.
There was also flack from the Monroe Brothers .... but we WON"T go there!!!

this nostalgic TV moment was brought to you by Bonsai Bobby and ramjet... 2 of the coolest cats anywhere, and NOT AT ALL TV buffs!! LOL

An aged farmer and his wife were leaning against the edge of their pig-pen when the old woman wistfully recalled that the next week would mark their golden wedding anniversary.

"Let's have a party, Homer," she suggested. "Let's kill a pig."

The farmer scratched his grizzled head. "Gee, Ethel," he finally answered, "I don't see why the pig should take the blame for something that happened fifty years ago."

yes since its a very hard industry to compete with all the big commerical farms.....private farmers have it really rough and struggle to make ends meet! They do it because they love the land and their family tradition its a labor of love, everyone should do their part to support local farmers who grow food healthier with less pesticides and most of all with LOVE!

They must feel the thresher, we all do, at times.

My mom and dad would only get stressed out when they had to take the animals to the slaughter. It made them so sad and me as well. My dad would get drunk and my mom would just cry. They are not farmers anymore though. To painful.
