The sign says nothing, you have to read it. This means that if the owner of the property finds you on the propertry he can file a complaint for trespassing since you had been given prior written notice.
You do not even need a sign. If a Jehovah's Witness comes to the door you can give them a 30 seconds verbal notice to quit the property or have a trespassing complain filed against them.

In my experince, the sign is usually being enforced by a big, mean dog or a shotgun. So, yes, I usually listen.

No. I do if there are consequences like getting shot, but otherwise no. Even then I don't sometimes. In my state, if you're in someone's house they have the right to defend their property and shoot you.
