Law is same for everyone, be it sanjay dutt or a non celebrity. Just because he is a well know film actor we all feel that the court has not fair to him. There was no hue and cry when others who committed the same kind of offence were sentenced.
Also if sanjay dutt is not sentenced there are so many other criminals in jail who would seek bail/relief on similar grounds.

not in agreement with the courts judgement at all. Sanjay Dutt is not a criminal. He committed a blunder all right, but is 2 years in jail and 14 years of court room proceeding and tension not enough punishment. Secondaly he should have been tried in a normal court and not TADA court once it was agreed that he had nothing to do with terrorism. IN my opionion this is punishment is too harsh on him. Anyway cant go against courts judgement the law is like that what do do

I'm not really satisfied with the court's verdict. He'd already spent 16 months in jail and then he had the ghost of all this guilt and fear of court verdict haunting him for 14 years. I guess that's enough punishment for the poor guy! And, why do we sent criminals to jails? To make them realize that what they'd done was wrong and to reform them. I personally think this guy is pretty much reformed from whatever I've seen in his interviews or news about his good deeds and social works etc. So many people talk about him being so kind and generous. He seems to be a reformed person. So why send him to jail and ruin 6 years of his life. He's obviously not a cold-blooded criminal. At least that's what I know anyway, dunno if there's any background relations with the underworld or not. If there is, then I'm horribly wrong, but this is what I think right now. Hopefully he will get some relief from supreme court.
Edit: Yes, I'd say the same for other offenders if they're also reformed and are not cold-blooded murderers.

We have to appreciate the Judge for being impartial to the popularity of the accused and delivering the judgement.
Higher court on appeal will decide regarding the relief based on the reason given by the defendant.
